Bid Information
Project Description: | The project comprises the construction of: 1) Structural cast-in-place concrete including below ground wastewater chamber and potable water reservoir, 2) Insulated wood framed building with metal siding and metal roof, 3) Interior wood framed office/laboratory and foyer, 4) Interior masonry blocked walled chlorine room, 5) Pre-selected water treatment equipment including, manganese greensand filters and chemical systems, 6) Gas chlorination system and chlorine scrubber, 7) Pumping systems and piping, 8) Electrical and Instrumentation, 9) Controls and Programming, 10) Heating, Ventilation and Plumbing, 11) Site works, yard piping and utilities, 12) Systems start-up, commissioning and operator training. |
Pre-Bid Meeting: | Friday, March 5, 2010 at Project Location commencing at the Water Treatment Plant in the Town of Mayerthorpe, Alberta at 11:00 a.m. Attendance at this meeting is highly recommended. |
Bid Security: | Tenders must be accomopanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Cheque in the amount of 10% of the tender amount and made payable to the Town of Mayerthorpe. |
Additional Requirements: | The designation of sub-contractors and the provision of sub-contractor references is mandatory for Structural Concrete, Mechanical and Process Piping, and Electrical and Controls Sub-trades. Failure to designate sub-contractors and provide the required references will be grounds for rejection of the Tender Submission. Subcontractors must have relevant experience with projects of similar size and complexity.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. The prices tendered will not be the only consideration in evaluating whether to accept the tender from a qualified tenderer. Experience of personnel, nature of equipment used, proposed construction scheduling and references on previous work undertaken by the tenderer will also be considered. |

Bid Document Availability
Hard Copy Bid Documents: | Tender documents may be otained at the office of the Engineer on or after February 25, 2010 upon deposit payable to the Engineer in the amount of $200.00 per set. The deposit will be refunded provided that the tender documents are returned in good condition within seven (7) days following closing of the tender. |
