"SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. SLAC has a requirement for a charge-integrating x-ray detector system for imaging experiments at LCLS.
The pixel size shall be between about 50 and 100
um. The pixel noise shall be around 100 electrons or below for single
photon identification and sub-pixel position reconstruction into the
tender x-ray range. The maximum signal shall be at least 10^4 8keV
photons. The quantum efficiency of the sensor shall be high (>90%)
over the range 2-20 keV and the system noise should be below the
Poisson limit from photon statistics throughout that range. The
camera must be linear to 1% over the range. The camera shall read out
at over 1kHz.
The individual sensor elements shall provide about 0.5Mpixels in a
single monolithic sensor.
The camera system shall be vacuum compatible to 10-6 Torr. It must use
a cable harness and fibers consistent with a small flange. It must
support standard cooling methods.
The overall camera dimensions should be compact and not exceed 100mm
in depth. Precise camera mounting support should be provided, and
support for insertable filters is desirable.
Provide a price and lead time quotation with signed Representations and Certifications by no later than July 14, 2016.
Source selection will be based on lowest price technically acceptable method.
