Market Research For BA-5790/U Lithium Carbon Monoflouride Battery
The Government is seeking information about the high capacity type 90 battery. The battery should be higher capacity than the BA-5390 and BA-5590 primary non-rechargeable batteries. The current specifications are listed below:
• MIL-PRF-32271A (draft, dated, 09 October 2013)
• MIL-PRF-32271/1A (draft, dated 09 October 2013)
• Drawing A3315878 Rev B.
Interested sources of the high capacity battery shall provide by email:
1. Information regarding potential opportunities for value engineering.
a. Specifically, are there new technologies that can reduce the manufacturing cost?
b. Are there ways to increase the shelf life?
2. Information on providing product samples with proposals.
a. Has your company manufactured this battery?
i. If yes, do you have a battery available to send with the RFP should a product
sample be required?
ii. If not, how long will it take to build a product sample?
3. Production line information.
a. What is your monthly production capacity?
b. What is the smallest production quantity that is economical?
c. What is the smallest production quantity that allows the vendor to maintain a
profit?
d. What would happen to the production line in between orders?
