commercial Facade Improvement Program
The purpose of the Program is to provide Grants to eligible building/business owners, for use in cleaning
up, beautifying, improving and maintaining the exterior appearance of their property or building
faades/commercial business/structure(s) within the designated Downtown Promenade Area.
Businesses located in the 4th Street Gateway or Mercado Areas will be considered on a case by case
basis in accordance with the Program Guidelines.

in accordance with the Program Guidelines. Each Grant will provide to eligible property owners, an
amount to be determined by the Agency, but not to exceed $30,000 and will be disbursed to recipients
on a cost reimbursement basis for actual and eligible costs incurred by the recipient.
The quality and historical integrity of the building faades that frame the street are a key factor in the
image of Downtown Perris. A storefront that accurately reflects its historical, cultural, or architectural
character always makes a stronger and lasting impression. The Programs Faade Design Guidelines
promote diversity of design choices for individual storefronts while preserving the existing structure.
These guidelines should be consulted by developers and property owners to ensure that any change or
addition is compatible with the original design of the building and enhances the historical image of
Downtown Perris.
