The Wyoming Wildlife Foundation, a component fund of the Wyoming Community Foundation, is inviting proposals for its Memorial Bear Fund, which was established in 1992 to honor the memory of biologists Kirk Inberg, Kevin Roy, and pilots Ray Austin and Fred Reed, who were killed in accidents while conducting bear research in northwest Wyoming.

Grants of up to $5,800 will be awarded to Wyoming-based research, habitat protection, education, and other projects related to all bear species in the state. Priority will be given to projects with matching funds, established partnerships, and an appropriate budget. Projects will be evaluated based on their likelihood of success and project readiness; significance at the local/state/regional levels; duration of benefits; and adequacy of monitoring.

To be eligible, organizations must be considered tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The fund does not directly award grants to individuals.

For complete program information and application guidelines, see the Wyoming Wildlife Foundation website.
