Wilshire Center Exterior Repair and Refurbishment
UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the purpose of selecting an Executive Architect for the Wilshire Center Exterior Repair and Refurbishment project (UCLA Project #943930.01). Final selection and appointment of the Executive Architect is contingent upon approval by the University of California Office of the President.
The project is anticipated to involve design and construction of exterior repairs and refurbishment of the Wilshire Center, an approximately 330,000 square foot, 18-story high-rise office building on Wilshire Boulevard. The project would replace the existing metal spandrel panels and louvers and re-clad the existing mullions on the exterior skin of the building due to their deteriorated condition. The windows will remain in place and the building fully occupied during this renovation work. The work would also include a reconfiguration of the main entrance at Wilshire, the first floor tenant enclosure, signage and the vehicular entrance. Design concepts for the project have been developed by the University in an initial feasibility study.

Responses to the RFQ are due by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009. A short list will be determined by a screening committee; further steps in the selection process will be at the discretion of the selection committee.
