Wichita VAMC Vascular Physicians Services
The Pre-Solicitation for Vascular Surgeon Physician Services that hold a Faculty Appointment with University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, located at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, in Wichita, KS, has been CANCELED due to the requirement of education and supervision of graduate medical trainees and the affiliate is the only source for a faculty appointed vascular physician, in accordance with Directive 1663, a sole source with the Affiliate is the preferred option whenever education and supervision of graduate medical trainees is required.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15, located at 4101 South 4th Street Trafficway, Leavenworth, KS intends to enter into an indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for Vascular Surgeon Physician Services that hold a Faculty Appointment with University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, located at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, in Wichita, KS.
The term of the contract is a base of one year with four one-year option periods. Solicitation documents are anticipated to be available October 1, 2013 or shortly thereafter and will be posted via the Federal Business Opportunities website. This requirement is being solicited under the authority of Public Law 104-262, 38 U.S.C. 8153 and FAR Part 15. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Prospective offerors should not expect notification of issuance of amendments other than via the Federal Business Opportunities website and are responsible for obtaining all amendments as posted. Prior to submission of a proposal, offerors are expected to read the solicitation documentation in its entirety to fully understand the scope of work, terms, and conditions of the requirement(s). Description of Services: Vascular Surgeon Physician Services are needed for the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS. The physicians will be required to hold a Faculty Appointment with the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita. Resident Supervision is required. The table below depicts the services that will be required.
Clinics Days Hours
Vascular Outpatient Clinics Monday 3 hour clinic
Surgical Services Any day is possible 2 hour clinic, one day a week
Clinical Rounds, Supervise Residents, and Consults Sunday through Saturday 4 hours per week
On Call Sunday through Saturday 24 hours per day; 7 days per week; 365 days per year
