Goals
Reorganize web content / site architecture so that three key visitor groups can more easily find what they are looking for. We think the easiest way to do this may be to have separate silos for each group, but will consider any easy-to-navigate design. The organization will create new content as needed but majority of content will be transferred from current site; organization staff is happy to help with that to keep costs down.
Refresh website design to be more current, attractive and inviting
Keep it easy for BCAN staff (somewhat tech-savvy, happy to learn more as necessary) to update regularly and add new content and media
Site should be search engine friendly, as majority of traffic is from web searches and AdWords
We’d like to stay with a purple /orange / neutrals color scheme, and keep our logo (available as .eps)

Current Technology
WordPress for our website, hosting with Nexcess, email with GoogleApps, constitutent email through CreateSend via diviniadesign.com, host videos at Vimeo, event registrations through EventBrite and StayClassy.org, online fundraising and donations through StayClassy.org, store through Google Checkout, potentially GoToWebinar to host webinars. The plugin we use most often in WordPress is cforms II. We use cforms to allow people to register to organize events, become volunteers, join our mailing list and request materials. They then automatically receive a confirmation email. We export data from cforms and import it into other programs as necessary. This is the most interactive aspect of our website. We use GiftWorks for non-integrated donor management.
Will need new hosting, and happy to consider new tools for any other services. Do not need CRM integration at this time. Find WordPress to be workable and user-friendly, but not sure if it will be the right tool as the website grows, so we’re open to other CMS options. Google Checkout has been fine, but it has been difficult to get the details we would ideally have (like weighted shipping rates) and we haven’t been able to integrate the cart feature in our pages.
