The College now requests proposals for web design and development, first to complete
the College intranet; and second to redesign the College website. The over-arching
project goals include:
 Strengthen the College’s Reputation: The College wishes to establish stronger
brand recognition and consistent, compelling messaging throughout its web presence
in order to more accurately convey its capabilities and unique strengths with potential
students, employees, donors, the community, and industry partners.
 Enhance Internal Communications: The implementation of a College intranet will
provide a central services hub that will feature, inform, update and provide
collaboration services that align with the culture, the pulse and the speed of the
organization’s diverse and innovative projects, events, initiatives and strategic
direction.
 Address Unmet Needs: Due to the lack of a content management system, many
websites exist “outside” of the College’s official web presence without a cohesive
strategy or system in place to ensure sustainability. In addition other needs remain
unanswered that could potentially extend or enhance the viability of the college’s web
presence and communication strategies.
 Improve the Effectiveness of the College Website: The College wants its website
to meet the needs of its students, visitors, employees and partners. By implementing
more robust navigational, search, content and analytics, our website presence will
transform itself from a place that describes processes to one that facilitates and
transacts services over the web.
 Improve Operational Efficiencies: College employees will leverage the new
intranet and redesigned website to identify and engage with those seeking
information; which should make the process of obtaining, sharing and acting upon
information easier for everyone.
 Maintain Efficient and Effective Web Administration: This project, once
completed, will provide for distributed content publishing across the College. New
content contributors and teams will emerge, while website administration (IT and
College Relations) personnel is not increasing. The proposed solution, tools and
applications must be aligned with industry best practice; leverage the best of what the
SharePoint platform is designed to offer; with a preference for incorporating
Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications and plug-ins wherever possible.
