Website Redesign for prominent non-profit organization
The purpose of this project is to redesign the flagship website for the organization (http://www.humanesociety.org). The
new website should implement strategies to further the organization’s mission to reduce suffering and create
transformational change for animals. We strive to achieve that mission through fundraising, advocacy and
awareness leading to changes in behavior.
We have developed a strategy and a preliminary idea of how we envision the new flagship website will work
in conjunction with our other communication channels. We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking and
experienced vendor to help us pick and transition to a new content management system (CMS) from the
Convio Luminate CMS platform, develop a content strategy and build a website with responsive design that
accounts for current and evolving trends, practices and devices within the nonprofit sector and beyond. We
want a vendor that will provide insight and suggestions for improvements to the site architecture and
navigation, as well as suggestions on innovative ideas for layout, look, feel and functionality within the
context of our website’s larger goal, strategies, objectives and tactics (see section 7). The website is one part
of the organization’s multi-faceted communications department but also the hub upon which many of our
channels rely, so the new humanesociety.org will need to work seamlessly with our Convio Constituent
Record Management (eCRM) system, our Luminate Online conversion modules, and various other channels
