Website Redesign and Redevelopment
The Town invites proposals from qualified web designers and developers or the redesign, development, and hosting of its website located at http://www.ponoka.org
The following items must be incorporated in the website redesign.
Website must load fast (less than 3 seconds with cable, less than 13
seconds at 56 baud modem)
Other municipal programs must be integrated such as the AS400
Incorporate a seamless search function for the website and public town
documents (Council minutes, agendas, policies, and bylaws)
Online forms that can be completed and returned electronically
Online payment options for programs, services, products (e.g. maps, dog
licenses, etc.)
Implement a Search Engine Optimization process
Ability to easily view the website on mobile devices
Website must work with major browsers such as IE, Firefox, Safari and
Chrome
The Town of Ponoka requires a strong content management system that is
designed to:
Permit town staff to easily add/edit/delete pages from anywhere
Allow staff to develop new pages and insert into navigation
Automatically update site map and menus when changes are made
Allow authorized town employees and Council to access different parts of
the website with varying degrees of rights
Be as easy to use as any word processing program and no prior knowledge
of HTML is necessary
Ensure approved changes and additions are updated in real time
Allow town staff to manage, add and delete any rotating photos, banners
and buttons.
Create web content that can automatically expire
Provide multiple page templates and ability to develop new customized
pages
Arrange for initial staff training, training documents and continuous
technical support as required
