The College is seeking proposals from firms with at least five years of experience designing and implementing websites for higher education to redesign and rearchitect the website. At a minimum, we are looking to this firm to: • Develop a strategy and schedule for the site based on a review of previous strategy documents (to be provided), a review of the current website, and conversations/meetings with key personnel, to include no more than one day of meetings on site. • Recommend an open-source-based (e.g., Drupal) CMS that is powerful yet easy-to-use and can automatically repurpose content for different platforms, including social media; and provide associated costs and assistance in implementing same. • Develop at least two design concepts, including color and CSS schemes, and conduct concept testing for each. • Develop and test a mobile-ready version (four-template suite minimum) for priority website content. • Edit/rewrite content on key pages (no original copy creation) for effectiveness and SEO. RFP | Website Redesign & Implementation | Page 2 • Migrate existing content to the new website and CMS in collaboration with staff. • Recommend a hosting setup, including the costs associated with that setup. • Provide training as needed for website staff to provide ongoing site management and maintenance. • Provide a style guide as well as technical and user documentation. Not included in the scope of work will be the Athletics section of the website or the portal. TheCollege is a four-year, liberal arts college located in central Vermont. We average approximately 1900 students (both on and off campus) and primarily serve Vermont and New England students. We are the best known for our programs in the arts, environmental sciences, business and hospitality, and education.
