The Public Library is accepting proposals to design and develop a new library
website.
Objectives
● Create a modern, mobile-friendly, and accessible site using an open-source content
management system (like Drupal or WordPress) that reflects the library’s branding and
identity. Staff must have the ability to easily update and add content. Content should be
modular and reusable whenever possible.
● The redesigned site must be clean, modern, and visual. Ample space must be provided for
featuring library products, services, and events. The redesign will need to incorporate three
library blogs that currently are hosted on Blogger.
● The website must be able to apply distinct templates to the kids and teen sections of the
site. These sections of the website will require their own branding and style, though
content and staff access will overlap with the main site.
● The website will be migrated to a new hosting company, which will be chosen in
consultation with the library’s Web Services Librarian.
● Site content will be redeveloped in-house in consultation with the vendor.
● The project must include documentation and training for key staff in updating and
maintaining the website.
