Website Design Update for the Society
The organization is seeking an experienced firm to design and develop a new website with the following qualities:
• GOALS:
o Develop a new site with a mobile component that is easily updated in terms of content
by Board members
o Allow members and visitors to register for events, and provide a password‐protected
section to Chapter members for Job Board access
o Reorganize the content so information is easily found
o Make the site a go‐to resource by local public relations and communications
professionals
o Become a respected hub for our Chapter, connecting all our communication channels,
including social media and eNewsletter
• DESIGN:
o Dynamic yet simple design, mirroring or reflecting that of PRSA National
(www.prsa.org). Design needs to engage users, where users are defined as PRSA‐MD
Board members, Chapter members and public relations/communications professionals
at large. Users should find the website intuitive and useful.
o Design that ties in all of PRSA‐MD’s communication channels, including bi‐weekly
eNewsletter, blog and social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter).RFP:

• FUNCTIONALITY:
o Allows Board members to easily add and update information – we are looking for a
WordPress site, unless the chosen firm has a better software recommendation.
o Keeps our current functionality, including event registration, Job Board and password‐
protected members‐only section, as well as additional functionality, including relevant
database updating, mailing list/database creation and access.
o Create a corresponding mobile site.
• REQUIREMENTS:
o Website to be created in WordPress, so we are seeking a design firm that is a WordPress
expert. We need a WordPress template, as well as expert recommendations for plug‐ins
that will best fit our needs.
o Design firm chosen will be able to handle both design and development, including
incorporating our existing blog into the new framework and setting up the new site into
a hosting package.
o Optimized for search engines
o Create a corresponding mobile site
