Web-based ridematching application
The RideShare Program is seeking a web-based ridematching and commute tracking system that would be available to commuters whose commute has at least one leg in the following counties.... The following summarizes the most desirable features of the system:
Software that provides ridematching for carpools, vanpools and bicyclists along a set route or within a radius of a location, as well as the capability for users to customize routes.
Integrated VMT reductions and environmental impacts calculations (VOC, NOX, CO2, etc.) by regional entity, by company/organization, and by individual that are based on the most recent version of EPA’s Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES) factors.
Integrated commuting cost savings calculations by regional entity, by company/organization and by individual.
Ability to create, generate and export reports to track program registrations, alternative commute mode usage, environmental impacts and marketing activities on a regional, company/organization and individual basis.
A user-friendly web interface that allows individuals to conduct online carpool, vanpool and bicycling match searches and to refine their searches by commute route, work hours, smoking preferences, gender and employer.
Web application must include security features to protect users’ privacy. In this environment users will be able to contact each other to make ridesharing arrangements.
GIS integration with ridematching, and periodic map upgrades.
Ability to customize the system to match the look and feel of the sponsoring agency, with features to add text, photos, videos and links.
Capability to provide employer–specific features including in-house ridematching, tracking and web page customization.
Capability to administer incentives and commute challenge-type promotions
Capability to support event-based and spontaneous “casual” carpooling arrangements.
Ability to interface with social media such as Twitter and Facebook.
Guaranteed Ride Home registration and tracking capabilities.
Vanpool administration capabilities, including cluster mapping, vehicle and fare payment tracking and NTD reporting.
