This project involves the creation of a web-based energy information hub: “Rhode Island Energy Online”. This data center will include publicly available written, graphical, and tabular resources regarding Rhode Island state and municipal energy infrastructure, generation, prices, consumption, and emissions. To the extent possible and appropriate, this information will be available for fossil fuels, renewable forms of energy, and energy efficiency, and will be sortable by geography (state, municipality, zip code, etc.) and by sector (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.). It will also house a GIS mapping interface (currently under construction here at URI by the URI Environmental Data Center) to portray this information in a geospatial format.
