Web Site Infrastructure Project
Bidders should note that the WSI initiative is an infrastructure project having the following objectives:
- Implement the infrastructure necessary to provide a structured web presence meeting the needs of the REAL ID Act
- Migrate existing applications and data from the current web site to a new environment
- Establish a data service that interfaces with legacy data systems and permanently stores the data required for the web presence
- Establish a security framework that provides multiple layers of security, implements an identity management solution, and provides for audit ability
DMV must establish a web infrastructure that permits DMV to communicate with other States regarding personal identity issues. Among the transactions required are verification of out-of-state driver licenses and birth certificates. DMV will also use this infrastructure to provide selected transactions designed to reduce the workload in the Field Offices.
