Weather Forecasting, Alerts and Data Services
Real-time, forecast, and historical weather data delivery shall be primarily through the internet using a browser based application hosted by the Contractor. No specialized software should be required as the application shall be accessed using common off the shelf (OTS) browsers.
The system must be user friendly and make use of point and click menu capabilities. The user should be able to retrieve and instantly loop and/or replay a full spectrum of vital weather products. The most commonly requested graphic, radar imagery and text products should be accessible by one or two mouse clicks from a menu. The Weather Forecast Service shall be structured so airport personnel can intuitively access graphical and text weather and, with the help of decision support tools, make timely and critical decisions when severe weather conditions are imminent.
