ARTWORK SITE/TYPE OF ART SOUGHT/ENVIRONMENT
The committee is seeking a large interior mural, sculpture, installation public art project. The proposed site of the commissioned artwork is on the
highly visible first floor atrium wall, approximately 6 feet x 45 feet. The committee is seeking artists who can design, in an engaging manner, innovative,
thought-provoking projects that relate to the proposed space.

ELIGIBILITY
This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) competition is open to all professional artists or artist teams from throughout the United States. Artists from
diverse backgrounds and Nebraska artists are encouraged to apply.

ABOUT THE WAYNE STATE COLLEGE CENTER FOR APPLIED TECHNOLOGY
Wayne State College's School of Business and Technology has a strong reputation of graduating well prepared students who serve as industrial technolgy
educators and leaders. The Center for Applied Technology will continue to attract first-rate students and faculty and increase the number of
industrial technology teachers, diversified manufacturing administrators, construction and safety managers, drafters and computer programmers.
The Center for Applied Technology will also provide northeast Nebraska with a facility to support management training for industry, encourage
ongoing employee development, foster small business entrepreneurs interested in manufacturing, engage in applied research with industry and
serve as a career academy for high schoools in northeast Nebraska. It is the intent of Wayne State College to respond to identified and continuing
demand for management positions in industry and K-12 teachers in industrial education. Wayne State College will enhance and modernize program
offerings and facilities in these areas to address the acute shortages of personnel in industry and education in Nebraska. Wayne State College
is the sole four-year program providering certified teachers in the area of industrial technology in the State of Nebraska and as such sees firsthand
the exceptional demand from both education and industry to provide qualified individuals to be placed throughout the state. Majors in Industrial
Technology include: Construction Management, Drafting, Planning and Design, Safety Management, Field Endorsement in Industrial Technology
Education 6-12 and Supplemental Endorsement to Teach Skilled and Technical Science Education 9-12.
