The Department of Interior (DOI), National Park Service (NPS) anticipates issuing a firm fixed price construction contract for services at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, VA. The three pieces of the orchestra shell weigh approximately 30,000 pounds. The stage rigging system is a 104-line set, single-purchase manual counterweight system. The powered systems include the fire curtain, light bridge, two light ladders, and the storage and positioning machinery for the orchestra shell. The Filene Center is an open-air theater and equipment considerations shall take into account the exposure to humidity and condensation.

The replacement system shall be an in-kind replacement of the current 104-line set manual counterweight system, replacement of the orchestra shell ceiling winches, replacement of the control systems, modification to the orchestra pit lift for controls/edge protection, removal of the side light ladders, modification to the fire curtain controls and circuitry, and addition of OSHA-compliance fall protection systems.
