Acquisition purpose and objectives: To maintain, upgrade, or return to service critical meteorological sensing systems, including two radiometers, five radar wind profiles, and a Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave radar (FM/CW).

The Government requires detailed information about the atmospheric boundary layer (the lowest 1-2 km of the atmosphere). The radiometers provide information about the thermodynamic characteristics (temperature and humidity) in and above the boundary layer, and the radar wind profilers provide information about the dynamic characteristics (wind speed and direction) in and above the boundary layer. Together, the network of radiometers and radar wind profilers provide a detailed depiction of the atmospheric parameters in the boundary layer. The Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) boundary layer radar provides additional information about the depth and structure of the boundary layer.

Maintenance and repair tasks may be onsite at DPG or at Vendor location.
Training on functionality is also required on any newer software upgrades or hardware issues.
