The current 911ETC CrisisConnect is an emergency telecommunications solution that receives a data feed from NPS that contains a list of phone numbers and location information. Crisis Connect validates the data and configures it into the correct National Emergency Number Association (NENA) 2 Standard format. The formatted data is uploaded into the Crisis Connect database so that when a 911 call is placed, the Public Safety Access Points (PSAP) computer equipment will query the Crisis Connect database to obtain the phone number and location information for the call.

Required by NPS next generation telephony system, this upgrade to 911ETC Emergency Routing Service (ERS) and Emergency Gateway (EGW) will track the free movement of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoiP) phones (i.e.
soft phones) and communicate those changes to the ERS database automatically. When a 911 call is made, the ERS will route the call to the correct servicing PSAP in order to pull the location information of the caller. At the same time the EGW will send screen pop-up notifications to designated users on the NPS campus that a 911 call has been placed. The upgrade will also allow NPS personal to listen into and even intercept the call, if necessary. All calls will be recorded and archived for future playback.
