RFP : WEB SITE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT in Alberta, Canada

The Town is accepting proposals to design and develop the Town’s web site. This
will be a concept to completion production.
The Town has a web presence that is somewhat outdated in appearance, structure
and in the presentation of content. An opportunity exists to re-engineer the site to better
reflect the goals of the Town and to incorporate the latest web technology. Upon
completion of the development of the site, the Town will assume full responsibility
for web site content maintenance and administration. All content, coding and graphics will
become the sole property of the Town.

Specific Strategies
 Provide a file storage resource for Bylaws, Policies, and Council Meeting Minutes
 Move the content from the existing Town website to the new site
 Increase awareness of recreation programs, rates and schedules
 Provide a job posting and resume submission interface for Human Resources
 Allow Police, EMS and Fire departments to have dedicated areas (sub-pages) to
present information relevant to their departments
 Deliver department-specific information for all other departments at the main level
(e.g. Public Services, Planning and Economic Development, Mayor & Council)
 Give visitors information on attractions and businesses using maps and multi-media
 Allow clients to submit questions, track issues and report concerns
 Provide tools for conducting surveys and polls and sharing the results
 Allow posting and responding to tenders and RFPs
 Develop an on-line census tool for use during census years
 Plan for the eventual incorporation of the Virtual City Hall tool from Diamond
Municipal Services
 Consider a link to the Class Activity Registration & Facilities Booking software
 Process payments for certain specific activities, such as donations and business
license renewals
 Access cemetery database information via an interactive map
 Highlight events, news and announcements
 Provide a consistent brand and image across the websit
