Visualization for NMCAC
The Department of Information Technology requests proposals from prospective Offerors for the acquisition of equipment, services, and operating software for Visualization Gateways being established as part of a distributed computing infrastructure for the New Mexico Computing Applications Center (NMCAC). These Visualization Gateways will be advanced audiovisual systems to provide 3D stereoscopic collaborative visualization and tele-video conferencing among the gateways and "Encanto" - the State of New Mexico's 172 teraflop, 14,336 processor supercomputer. The systems will be based on 3D-ready compact display technology such as DLP televisions or plasma flat panel monitors. The gateways must operate across a variety of disparate networks spanning the entire state of New Mexico. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to result in the procurement and deployment of systems on campuses of public institutions of higher education in New Mexico.
