The Smart Buildings Center (SBC) is creating a unique regional demonstration hub where innovative products and services can be deployed and evaluated in operating buildings under real world conditions. Our first targeted technology area will evaluate whether software-based, virtual baseline and audit technologies can accelerate projects and/or provide lower costs than traditional building energy efficiency audits and baselines, which are a gateway, and sometimes a hurdle, to identifying and undertaking projects.
The SBC is looking for a vendor that can supply buildings with pre-established (traditional) baselines and bring them together with new innovative auditing technologies in a demonstration project for evaluation purposes. The vendor will identify, recruit, onboard, and evaluate the technologies against the traditional baseline process to produce case studies highlighting strengths and weaknesses of the technologies. Also, given the increasingly crowded market, the vendor will produce a white paper or product offerings summary that can be utilized by building owners to help them understand the technologies that are available and bring clarity to the types of offerings appropriate for them.
