Request for Information (RFI), Virkon® S Disinfectant

BACKGROUND:
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), National Veterinary Stockpile (NVS) is requesting information regarding the availability of Virkon® S (name brand or equal) powdered concentrate and shelf-life extension program (SLEP) services for rotation of stock. Virkon® S disinfectant has proven efficacy with major diseases of concern to the USDA, such as Avian Influenza (H5N1), Newcastle Disease, Classical Swine Fever (Hog Cholera) and Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)


PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The primary objective of issuing the RFI is to seek information from vendors with the capability of provide the following.
• Virkon® S (name brand or equal) powdered concentrate, Virkon S Tablet form and Virkon S Dilution Test Strips for use in livestock disease prevention and control at various sites. The disinfectant will be paired with other disinfectant-related items for safe use during animal disease outbreaks.


• DuPont recommends a three-year shelf-life on the disinfectant. Since the NVS requires fresh stocks, the Contractor is requested to provide shelf-life extension program (SLEP) services. That is, a coordinated rotation of stock at the storage sites before product expiration. The Contractor shall provide SLEP services on all Virkon® S units that the Contractor delivers.

A. Provide available quantities in pounds for Virkon powdered concentrate
B. Provide available quantities Virkon S Tablet Form
C. Provide available quantities Virkon S Dilution Test Strips
D. Provide shelf-life extension program (SLEP) services information that describes the coordinated rotation of stock at the storage sites before product expiration.
E. Provide complete pricing information.
F. Provide company size information (LB, SB, etc.)


SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
All written responses must be received within 21 days of issuance of this RFI. Submissions should: (1) use Microsoft Word or Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF); (2) be sent to the point of contact listed in this notice; (3) be minimum 11 font on 8.5 X 11 paper; (4) be complete, sufficiently detailed, and organized in a manner that tracks to the information requested in this RFI; (5) include a single company point of contact with name, title, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address(es); and (6) not exceed 10 single sided pages in total (not including cover page and cover letter). Other media types (i.e. CD, printed technical information) that meet the submission criteria above will be accepted and should be sent. Material that is advertisement only in nature is not desired.
