RASKC seeks to identify local veterinary practices or hospitals to provide emergency, supplementary and/orspecialty veterinary medical services and monitoring, especially during off hours or at other times whenRASKC is unable to respond to the needs of injured or sick animals. Veterinary care may include euthanasia, ifmedically necessary.The intent of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to receive proposals from qualified veterinary facilities toprovide additional services for animals in the care and custody of the County. We are seeking care forservices in the following eleven (11) service categories:1. Emergency After-Hours Care for Animals in Foster Care2. Emergency Care for Animals from Field Services or RASKC Shelter3. Medical Care for General Shelter Animals4. Specialty Care for Shelter Animals Parvovirus Treatment5. Specialty Care for Shelter Animals Orthopedic Assessments and/or Surgery6. Specialty Care for Shelter Animals Dental Surgery and Oral Care7. Specialty Care for Shelter Animals Ophthalmologic Assessments and/or Surgery8. Specialty Care for Shelter Animals Radioactive Iodine Therapy9. Specialty Care for Shelter Animals Soft Tissue Surgery10. Medical and/or Emergency Care for Large Animals11. Medical and/or Emergency Care for Avians and/or ExoticsVeterinarians are invited to submit proposals for one or more of the above listed service categories.Animals under our care that may need services include, but are not limited to, domestic animals, includinglivestock and exotic animals. Depending upon the service category, services provided for the treatment ofanimals may include, but are not limited to, emergency calls during normal working hours and emergency callsafter hours. Routine and emergency calls during normal working hours or after-hours are performed in eitherthe Veterinarian s office or, for livestock, offsite at a specified location. Given our expansive service area weare interested in contracting for services with veterinarians throughout King County and those in neighboringcounties, Pierce and Snohomish, whose offices are near the King County border
