The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information about the capability and availability of acquiring or hiring for service, a commercial, and/or university-affiliated vessels to provide support to NOAA's surface buoy recovery and deployment approximately 300 nautical miles southeast of Tokyo, Japan, in the vicinity of 32.3°N, 144.6°E. , NOAA is soliciting responses for chartering services, or ship lease with crew provided by the respondent. NOAA requests respondents describe their ability to fulfill the specified mission activities. Another purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding:
(1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources;
(2) whether you are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; other than small business; and
(3) your size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. The NAICS for this proposed acquisition is 541370 Surveying and Mapping (except Geophysical) Services. The Small Business Size Standard is $15M. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible.
