Vermont College Media RFP
Vermont Tech is accepting proposals by firms or individuals for a graphic design and print media expert to develop audience-specific material for the College's Admissions recruitment program. This project will require work from concept to oversight of production, with the College utilizing a separate vendor for printing. The new piece will
be the signature item of all the Admissions collateral but should fit within the brand family of existing materials. The goal is to create an original, memorable piece which promotes Vermont Tech as a highly desirable college option.
The piece should highlight the College's unique value proposition: applied, technical education; high-value return on investment with exceptional placement rates; studentcentered faculty and staff who foster a sense of community; and a small college environment that offers many of the amenities of a larger one without getting lost in the back of a classroom. The College benefits from its Vermont location, access to the outdoors and an active student body.
Admissions recruiters will use the signature piece at events on and off campus, during travel visits to high schools and college fairs, and mail it in the communication workflow to prospective students. The design should allow the College to update images and tweak content in subsequent years without compromising the integrity of the piece.
The primary target audience is prospective students; traditionally-aged high school juniors and seniors, and transfer students. Secondary audiences include non-traditional students and traditional-student influencers; parents, and high school teachers and guidance counselors.
The College offers a library of photography. However, if the designer wishes to provide art direction for specific images, the College will manage the selection of the photographer and pay for these services outside of the scope of the graphic design contract.
