SUBJECT: Notice of intent to award a sole source contract
1. 22nd CONS at McConnell AFB, Kansas, intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to SIERRA NEVADA CORPORATION for the SOAR RADIO KITS. This sole source requirement meets the conditions of FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source has been identified as reasonably available to provide the supplies that will satisfy the agency requirements. The PUMA V3 DART kit is the only known kit that integrates an amplifier, diplexer/LNA and two way combiner enabling the utilization of the AN/PRC-158 radio set in a manner approved “Safe to Fly” for airframes in the United States Air Force. Sierra Nevada Corporation is the only known authorized vendor that meet both of these requirements.
2. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids, quotes, or proposals. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334220, the product or service code is 5985 and the Small Business size standard is 1,250 employees. This will be a firm fixed price contract. The purchase of this requirement includes the following:
a. CLIN 0001 – PUMA V3 DART – 16 Each
3. Interested parties are required to provide equal parts meeting the above brand name requirements. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, however all responsible sources that believe they can meet all of the requirements may submit a quote, which shall be considered. If solicited, the solicitation number will be FA462119TCHG1. If no responses are received by 3:00 P.M. Central Standard Time, 6 September 2019, a Sole Source contract will be pursued with Sierra Nevada Corporation.
