The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Shapes Aerospace International, 1415 Foundation Park Blvd SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909 for the purchase of 16 each P/N 5750000-045 Upstream Elbow Assemblies and 16 each P/N 5750001-029 Downstream Elbow Assemblies. The items are being procured from Shapes Aerospace International as they are the sole manufacturer for these parts and as such they have the special(costly) fixtures, jigs, and special tooling needed to manufacture, weld, and machine these high tolerance parts. Because of compatibility (form, fit, and function) concerns and issues, purchasing another manufacturer's similar or equal parts will greatly increase costs and time. There are no other sources that can meet thse requirements.
