Upgrade communications cable infrastructure at 40+ field sites throughtout the New England District, US Army Corps of Engineers.
New England District requires replacement of existing Category 3 (CAT3) and Category 5 (CAT5) inside communications cables from the data switch location to new data outlets installed adjacent to the existing outlets at 36 District Field Site locations.
The current USACE standard for communications cable infrastructure is Category 6 (CAT 6) with capability of up to 1GBps throughput. The existing communications infrastructure at NAE field sites is CAT 3 (10Mpbs) or CAT 5 (100 Mpbs). The communications cable infrastructure should be compliant with Army standards to ensure efficiency and safety. The communications cables at the field sites have exceeded the expected 15 year life cycle.
