THIS IS A MARKET RESEARCH/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SEEKING INFORMATION ONLY. NO QUOTES WILL BE ACCEPTED. This announcement is only seeking responses in order to determine participation in this acquisition. The 355th Contracting Office, Davis-Monthan AFB (DMAFB) intends to procure (QTY: 200/EA) UTILITY INSPECTION FLASHLIGHT as a brand name or equal requirement.

Under this requirement the contractor shall provide a PC and associated software that meets the following characterstics:
Flashlight Industry Standard Dimensions: Head Diameter 1 ¼" diameter Max, battery compartment 1" diameter Max
Flashlight battery compartment able to stand vertically
Tail switch to be dual position a) Turn flashlight on or off .. b) Momentary on - release off
Tail switch to be protected from damage from a 12 foot drop onto concrete floor
Tail switch designed to prevent accidental activation
Head to incorporate anti roll feature not to exceed 1 ½" diameter
Head to be protected from damage to window and bezel from a 12 foot drop onto a concrete floor with and additional security ring
LED electronics to be potted with Thermal Epoxy
Rear of head assembly to be sealed with Epoxy
Head window to be scratch resistant clear polycarbonate plastic
Head window to be sealed with quad style o-ring
LED light source to provide maximum candlepower throw utilizing a Cree XPL-V2 High Intensity LED
LED to be current rated at 150% of input current to LED
Electronic circuit to limit current to LED independent of input voltage range of 3.6 volts to 12 volts DC
Flashlight will operate using either 2 CR123 or 2 RCR123 batteries
Bezel, head, battery compartment and switch tail protector to be machined from aircraft grade aluminum
All aluminum parts to be anodized Type III black
Lifetime Warranty against manufature defect.
The designated NAICS Code is 315999, OTHER APPAREL ACCESSORIES AND OTHER APPAREL MANUFACTURING, with a size standard of 500 EMP.


Your response shall include your company's size, CAGE/DUNS codes and the primary point of contact. Documentation of technical expertise and capability must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise, certification, authorization and experience to compete for this acquisition. It is imperative that business concerns responding to this notice articulate their capabilities clearly and adequately. Responses to this notice are strictly voluntary; the Government will not pay for any costs incurred by interested parties in response to this notice.

IF A SOLICITATION IS ISSUED IT WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement.
