Turbine Engine Request for Information

This announcement is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) and does not commit the Government to solicit or award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available at this time, nor is there an estimated date of solicitation release at this time.

The United States Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) Targets Management Office (TMO) is seeking information concerning a turbine engine for subsonic unmanned aerial targets. TMO will consider new, used/rebuilt and/or repurposed engines. The Targets Management Office is seeking budgetary planning costs for engines and spare parts and estimated operations and maintenance costs for this engine. Our objective is to provide the following performance capabilities to our test/training customers worldwide. TMO is interested in engines that provide all or the majority of these capabilities. Request interested current or potential vendors notify TMO with their capabilities, plan or concept by 30 Nov 2014. Extended submissions may be granted, if necessary. All information provided will be kept confidential.

Capabilities:
Thrust Class: greater than 950 lbs thrust at Sea Level Standard Day
Power Generation Alternator - 28 VDC, 100 Amp minimum
Altitude - Sea Level up to 40,000 feet
Air Start on ground

Desired capabilities include:
Self contained oil system
Length: less than 36 inches
Diameter: less than 16 inches
Dry Weight: less than 160 lbs
In-flight air restart capability
