Trouble Desk at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for USS ALBANY (SSN 753)
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00024-14-G-4300 or N00024-14-G-4301 for technical and engineering services under Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0006 to support the operation of a Trouble Desk at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) for the USS ALBANY (SSN 753) Engineering Overhaul (EOH). The period of performance is estimated to be from 14 July 2014 to complete by 14 February 2015. Trouble Desk personnel will be responsible for evaluation of shipboard technical deficiencies against applicable maintenance requirements as well as issuing technical work instructions on nuclear powered submarine systems/components, as required. The potential prime contractors are Electric Boat Corporation, a General Dynamics Company located at 75 Eastern Point Road, Groton, CT 06340-4989, and Huntington Ingalls Industries, located at 4101 Washington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607. This order will be issued pursuant to 10 USC 2304 (c)(1). The proposed action is for the supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit under the authority of FAR 6.303 utilizing Class J&A number 40,970. This announcement is restricted to nuclear-qualified shipyards.
