Transit Supervisor Hybrid Vehicles
As part of the provincial government climate action plan, BC Transit will be required to
meet carbon neutrality by 2010. BC Transit is looking to support the Province's climate
action objectives by reducing carbon emissions from the TS Vehicles and aids in achieving
carbon neutral status for BC Transit non-revenue fleet.
To keep with the objective of lowering emissions in its non revenue fleet BC Transit is
looking to replace the existing non revenue TS vehicles with six (6)hybrid vehicles. BC
Transit has reviewed and examined what is in the market today that suits the operational
requirements of a TS vehicle. These vehicles need to meet a diverse and varied set of
operational requirements. BC Transit's preference is for a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) Ford
Escape Hybrid 2010.
