Transit Center Security
TheTransit Center is located near the South Bay Galleria at 1820 Kingsdale Avenue just south of Artesia Blvd. The Transit Center is an intermodal transit terminal facility servicing the western portion of the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. The City is in the planning phase of relocating the Transit Center to 1591 Kingsdale Avenue, and construction is expected to begin by January 2012.
The City provides access to Metro Rail with a regional Green Line Marine rail station on the City's fixed route transit system, Beach Cities Transit (BCT) Line 102. The Metro Rail station, located at 2406 Marine Avenue, consists of a passenger platform and an adjacent parking lot. The Marine Avenue Green Line station also provides local and regional connections to Metro bus, LADOT Commuter Express, Torrance Transit and the Lawndale Beat. Metro is in the planning stages to extend Green Line by 2035 from the Marine Avenue Station to the Redondo Beach Transit Center. The City is in the planning stages of relocating the Transit Center from its current location at 1820 Kingsdale Avenue to 1591 Kingsdale Avenue. BCT Line 102 will also provide service to the new transit center location.
