The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information from contractors that can provide a preventative maintenance and repair / replacement program for transformers, and partial discharge test of medium voltage conductors.

This announcement is not a Request for Proposal, Quotation, or Bid, and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information or comments received from potential sources because of this Sources Sought. No solicitation is available now. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to meet the requirements of the services identified herein as a part of this Sources Sought. After results of this market research are obtained, analyzed and compared with NIST's minimum requirement(s), NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract.


If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then this acquisition may be solicited as a small business set aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses (e.g., SB, SDB, WOSB, HUB-Zone, SDVOSB and VOSB, etc.) This requirement is currently assigned a NAICS code of 238210. The specific purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is to determine if there are any small businesses that can provide these services.


Any proprietary information should be clearly identified. The written capability statement should be received by Marc Zurasky, Contract Specialist, at marc.zurasky@nist.gov no later than 01:00 pm Mountain Time, Monday, November 06, 2017. Only electronic statements will be accepted. Faxes will not be accepted. Contractors may take the opportunity to make comments, including recommendations, regarding the Draft Performance Work Statement for the potential project. These comments may be considered in the development of the Performance Work Statement. This is not a formal Request for Information and the Government is not obligated to provide a response to any questions or comments regarding this project as a part of this Sources Sought.
