REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

This is a request for information (RFI) for commercial goods and services prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This RFI is in accordance with FAR Part 10, Market Research. This part prescribes policies and procedures for conducting market research to arrive at the most suitable approach to acquiring, distributing, and supporting supplies and services.
This RFI is solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment or promise of a contract by the Government. This is not a solicitation. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All cost associated with this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense.

OBJECTIVE

The Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA) is conducting market research for customized sliding track whiteboards secured to a tracked system that will allow four (4) separate whiteboards to slide back and forth across each other. The OA seeks information on commercial vendors that can provide a solution that meets or comes close to meeting this requirement.

REQUIREMENTS

The envisioned solution would have a whiteboard attached to the wall and/or floor and allow access to the wall behind the whiteboard. The four sliding whiteboards should be magnetic and move independently on separate tracks. The solution may not have any structural impact on the ceiling. The track system must support a 9ft floor to ceiling, and 25ft wide layout. All four whiteboards should be 4ft wide by 8ft tall. This solution should also include complete installation (frame, tracking, and whiteboards).

QUESTIONS FOR VENDORS

Interested vendors are to review and answer the questions below as part of their capability statement. This must include company information (Company Name, DUNS, Cage Code, Point of Contact information, NAICS codes, and partnering information, if any).

A. Procurement Method: The EOP would prefer to award a contract for the materials and installation to a single vendor.

1) For vendors that do not include installation, could you submit a proposal to partner with an installer of your product/solution as a subcontractor?
2) Are you registered in System for Award Management (SAM)?

B. Installation: The solution cannot structurally affect the ceiling, but there is a drop ceiling the vendor could adhere the track to (no drywall).

1) Can a movable track system holding four 4ft x 8ft whiteboards be securely mounted to the floor and or walls with only guidance support from a drop ceiling, or with no ceiling support at all?
2) Can the majority of the wall surface behind the moving whiteboards still be accessible with a wall-mounted track whiteboard system?
3) Is a site survey of the room required for this solution?

C. Security

1) Do you have cleared installers to work in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB)?

D. Manufacturing and Scheduling

1) Will any part of this solution require custom whiteboard manufacturing?
2) What is your estimated delivery and installation of this whiteboard system?
3) Where is your product manufactured and assembled?
