The Town’s current website was created in 2006 and in the five years since, much has
changed with respect to web design and the Town’s own needs and requirements. As a
growing municipality we need to make our online presence stronger, and ensure our
residents and visitors can find the information they need quickly and efficiently.


The proponent will show proven ability to redesign the Town’s website into one which
emphasizes:
ƒ ease of navigation from the end user’s perspective;
ƒ facilitating the management of up-to-date and complete content that is presented
in an easy-to-read format;
ƒ a ‘look and feel’ which contributes to the Town’s goal of branding its small town
charm, its creative and dynamic community, and its quality of life;
ƒ the addition of some interactive features aimed at facilitating two-way
communication between the Town and its stakeholders, and;
ƒ making the content accessible to as many stakeholders as possible.
The Town’s municipal website has two main objectives:

government, programs, services, events and initiatives.

The Town’s website is currently built on a proprietary content publishing system written
in Cold Fusion on MySQL dbase. The website currently hosts about 200 pages. Every
element of the site is automated except for the menu system which has to be manually
made when adding pages/sections. The current site also features a content publishing
system that includes:
• News
• Calendar
• Document management
• Committee meeting management
• Contact management (services etc.)
• Employee contact management (staff directory)
• Image management
• Comments
• Newsletter subscription
