The Cell Biology and Physiology Center (CBPC) is in need of a Nikon TIRF microscope with a Yokogawa W1 spinning disk in order to measure the dynamics of Actin and Focal Adhesions in its cell migration studies. TIRF microscopy is needed to allow CBPCbs researchers to have very high signal to noise when compared to conventional widefield microscopy. The Yokogawa W1 spinning disk is needed to accompany the TIRF microscope in order to allow researchers to image thick samples and remove out of focus light. The combination of confocal and TIRF microscopy will provide a powerful tool to give researchers insight into the studies of dynamics of Actin and Focal Adhesions.
