The Provision of Consulting Services for the Planning of an Inter-Municipal Heritage Archive and Museum Facility
The City of Colwood is issuing this Request for Proposal for consulting services to assist the
Colwood Heritage Commission and staff in the preparation of a needs assessment and
implementation plan for an inter-municipal Heritage Archives and Museum Centre. The
completion and appropriate distribution of such a plan has been deemed necessary in order to
properly gauge the interest of other neighbouring municipalities in establishing and operating a
joint-use regional facility. Archive space in a central location for the City of Colwood, City of
Langford, Town of View Royal, District of Metchosin, District of Highlands and the District of
Sooke is desired. It is, however, the Citys intent to proceed with a full investigation into the
feasibility of establishing an archives/museum facility regardless of the extent of participatory
interest from other municipalities.
