As of June 13, 2019, the National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) issued a request for proposal (RFP) from experienced and qualified firms or individuals to assist with the development of a cross-platform application to function as a web-based patient portal and mobile-enabled solution, which will be referred to as the EMPOWER Portal.

The NPF has recognized the need for a national patient data repository to better understand the natural history and progression of pancreatic diseases, the effectiveness of current treatments, and the quality of life of patients affected by pancreatic conditions.

The NPF intends to enter into a partnership with an experienced, responsive, responsible and financially sound organization that is qualified to establish and maintain a registry of patient-reported health data.

Firms that intend to respond to this RFP must submit all inquiries and questions for NPF consideration by June 21, 2019. Final proposals are due by July 19, 2019. NPF anticipates the vendor selection process to conclude by the end of July 2019.
