Testing Support Services for Passenger Booking and Servicing System
SIA is implementing an outsourced service-based solution to replace the existing airline reservation
and departure control system (DCS), known as Kriscom. The implementation of PBSS began in early
2009 when SIA completed the high-level technical and functional requirements gathering and joint
solutioning activities. Amadeus will provide this service-based solution in their system called Altea for
both Singapore Airlines and Silkair(MI). Altea is interfaced to SIAs 70 impacted applications via an
SIA middleware.
The cutover of Reservations (RES) and Inventory (INV) modules are expected to be a big bang in
June 2012, while the deployment of the Flight Management (FM) and Customer Management (CM)
applications will be rolled out progressively to all SIA and MI airports after the Altea RES/INV cutover,
with full cutover by June 2013.
