On Thursday 14th October 2010, Glasgow will formally receive the Commonwealth Games Flag at the Closing Ceremony of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. The Handover Ceremony is a significant event in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games process, and as such, is required to be a high impact and memorable production that will send a clear message about the values embodied in Glasgow 2014. A Creative Lead is sought to provide the overall creative concept for the Handover Ceremony and to provide artistic direction throughout the development and delivery of the event. The role of the Creative Lead will be to propose and deliver a creative concept that will ensure that the values of Glasgow 2014 are conveyed in an engaging and inspirational event. The entire copyright of the creative concept will be assigned to Glasgow 2014 Ltd. The Creative Lead will have knowledge and experience of delivering arts, cultural and creative programmes in the UK and internationally and will have an ability to meet strict deadlines and solve problems that could arise from the planning and delivering of such an event. Tenders are invited from individuals, companies and consortia from creative, cultural, arts, production, programming, advertising and events backgrounds. In the case of proposals from consortia, it is essential that a lead member be identified as the key delivery partner. All consortia members must be listed in the bid and their contribution identified. Key selection criteria will be availability of key professionals with directly relevant experience and a track record of engagement in event production; commercial and creative experience in delivering world class performance of live events; and strong relationship management skills to support relationships between the Glasgow 2014 and Delhi 2010 Organising Committees.
