The Board is currently provisioned with approximately sixteen hundred (1,600) lines to provide telephone service to its schools and administration buildings. Our analysis shows that individual business lines, fax lines, and security alarm system lines are significantly under utilized within the district but cannot be shared within the current configuration. By moving to a VOIP solution we see a significant opportunity to reduce costs through line consolidation.

Cost reduction resulting from line consolidation will come from three factors; better line utilization, reduced per line costs of centralized PRIs compared to individual lines at schools, and reduced need for PRI lines out to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) for calls from one district endpoint to another.
