Scotland has approximately 25 approved depuration plant facilities. The number of visits per annum is dependent upon the number of new applications for approval and the risk assessment which specifies the number of re visits to be under taken. The annual re visit schedule is determined by the Agency in discussion with the contractor and the relevant Local Authority. In general an average of 10 visits in total per annum are undertaken; these consist of both full approval and re visit inspections.
