This Sources Sought notice is a request for information to be used for preliminary market research and planning purposes only. The Government is seeking responses from contractors interested and capable of performing the required services. No proposals are being requested or accepted. This is NOT a solicitation and no contract will be awarded from this notice. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this notice. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of interested parties including Small Business (SB); 8A; Historically Underutilized Business (HUBZone); Service-Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOB); and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB).

The USDA, Forest Service Western Montana Acquisition Zone, expects to solicit for Unlimited Technical Support for Forest Service Mapping and Mobile GIS Systems for one year. The National Technological & Development Program anticipates awarding a Firm-fixed price service contract.

In order to determine the extent of industry interest and capability, interested parties must submit by mail to, Attn: Theresa Peterson 24 Fort Missoula Rd. Missoula, MT 59804 or email tpeterson@fs.fed.us. Responses are due by 6 July 2018/ 1000 MST.

The responses shall include:
1) Name of Firm, Point of Contact, Mailing Address, Telephone Number, and DUNS number.
2) Identification of the appropriate small business eligibility as determined by the NAICS size standards, the Small Business Administration and registration in System for Award Management (SAM), including SB, HUBZone, 8A, SDVOB and WOSB.
3) A brief description of experience providing this type of services including dollar value of previous work performed within the past three years.

• Trimble MGIS TerraSync and TerraFlex software, Trimble Positions extension for ESRI ArcPad or ArcGIS for Mobile, and GPScorrect extension for ArcPad
• Trimble MGIS GPS Pathfinder Office, Trimble Positions Desktop Add-in and GPSAnalyst Extension for ArcGIS software
• ESRI ArcPad software
• GeoExplorer 7X, 6000, 3000, 2008, 2005, and 2003 series
• GPS Pathfinder ProXR/XRS, Pro 6T/6H, ProXT/XH, ProXRT, XB and XC
• Juno ST/SB/SC/SD/3B/3D/5B and 5D receivers
• Trimble MGIS Recon, Nomad, Ranger, Yuma, Juno T411
• Trimble Ranger 31
• Legacy Trimble models and software: GeoExplorer 3 or 3c, Asset Surveyor (TSC1) 2
• Juniper Systems Allegro CE2, CX2, MX, Allegro 2, Archer, Archer 2, Mesa, and Mesa 2
• Cedar Tree Technologies CT7 Android Tablet and CT4 Android Handheld3
• Laser Technology Impulse, TruPulse, TruAngle and Criterion RD-1000 range finders/relascopes
• Laser Technology MapSmart with Volume software
• Ricoh 700 and 800 SE GPS cameras
• GPS Photo-Link software
• MobileDemand Tablets
• Everglade and WetCollect softwares

Estimated start date is September 1, 2018 and will run for one year.


Forest Service Customer Support to include immediate same day return calls and warranty or non-warranty repairs.


Service is provided for approximately 2000 cases per year.


Prospective awardees Must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) to be awarded a Federal Contract.


Authority for this procurement is FAR 13.106(b) for purchases not exceeding simplified acquisition threshold.
