Sealed bids will be received at Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area
(OWSVRA), 5172 Highway 78, Borrego Springs, California, 92004 until Wednesday April
14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and
vegetation necessary to eradicate an invasive non-native plant, tamarisk (a.k.a.
salt cedar) from approximately 40 miles of trails within OWSVRA in San Diego and
Imperial County, California, complete and in accordance with the plans and
specifications and such addenda thereto as may be issued prior to bid opening.
Contract duration approx. 30 months.
Mandatory job walk is on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. at Ocotillo Wells
District Headquarters conference room, 5172 Highway 78, Borrego Springs, California,
92004. No one other than Prime Contractor or one of his/her employees must attend
the entire job walk. Failure to attend, arrive late, or leave early for the
mandatory job walk shall cause for disqualification of your bid proposal. Please
plan to bring 4WD, if possible, snf some water we will be going into the field.
Mandatory license requirement: Contractor must have a valid State of California
contractor license A, or C-27, or D-49.

Payment and Performance bonds at 100% of contract value are required for this
contract.
Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation is required for this
contract. The incentive is for evaluation purposes only, an incentive will be given
to bidders who meet the DVBE requirements, either by achieving the 6% DVBE
participation or achieving less that the minimum 6% DVBE participation and
completing a good faith effort. DVBE advertising requirement is waived. DVBE
participation goals or good faith effort is required on contracts bids greater than
$10,000.00
