TRUCKEE RIVER LEGACY TRAIL PHASE 3 ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTATION PREPARATION
The Town of Truckee (the Town), acting as lead agency under the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), intends to retain a
consultant to prepare necessary CEQA and NEPA environmental review documents for Phase
3 of the Truckee River Legacy Trail. Town will require the preparation of an Initial Study and a
Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) under CEQA. In addition, Town anticipates that an
Environmental Assessment (EA) for the portion of the trail that travels through US Forest
Service land and a Categorical Exclusion (CE) for the entire project are required under the
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The Town is requesting proposals from qualified
consultants interested in preparing the CEQA/NEPA document for this project. Potential future
tasks may include the acquisition of environmental permits for the project, although the permits
are not part of the RFP scope of work.
